The process of buffing your car requires the right kind of buffer, in order to make your car sparkle. If you want to get that detailed showroom shine, don’t even bother doing it by hand. You’ll need the right tools to get the job done, and you’ll need to practice and gain experience in order to master this art form.

You’ll need to know what type of buffer suits you most: an electric model, or a pneumatic one powered by an air compressor. The pneumatic is powered by a separate compressed air source, while the buffer itself is light and requires almost zero maintenance. On the other hand, you also have the more popular ‘Electric Buffer’, which is often more bulky than its pneumatic cousin, but tends to be a lot quieter and more economically priced. Plus, you don’t have to buy an air compressor either, which can cost 200-$300 bucks for a decent one. If you’re just a homeowner and want portability, then you should probably go electric.
